Blast FC Girls Program

Dear All
At Blast FC, we focus on the development of each and every player from U8 - U19. For this reason, we believe in keeping the club small – we know each player and their parents by name.  We believe in coaching and developing all of our players, boys and girls, with the same approach and method.  So, you will see our youngest players using many of the same training drills as our older players.  This consistency enables us to help our players achieve their soccer-related goals.
While the boys’ program has remained strong over the past few years, we recognize that the girls’ program has struggled and that the number of participants has dropped.   We’re committed to rebuilding the girls’ program so that it’s as strong, if not stronger, than the boys’ program.  Our key focus remains developing each player to their potential and ensuring they play at the highest possible level (BPL, MRL and the National League).  We realize that it will take time to build the girls' program to the level it should be and we’re under no illusion that this process will take a lot of hard work and effective planning from our directors and coaching staff.  With the calendar year rule being implemented next season, we’re expecting some level of turmoil and confusion in the first year.  We expect there to be a period of transition before things settle down.  This will impact all players: girls and boys.  As we do today, we will continue to play players up in age if it’s in the best interest of the player’s development.
Our first step toward building the girls’ program is to name the new Blast FC Girls Director.  We are pleased to announce that Robert Warzycha has accepted the position. Robert has had a long and successful soccer career, both as a player and coach.  He was a professional soccer player for Poland and played in England for Everton. In the USA, Robert played for the Crew where he later served as their head coach for five seasons.
Next, we are committed to adding experienced coaches to our girls' staff.  Our first appointment is Patrice Bordron.  Patrice, who has been a coach with the Blast FC girls' program for the past 3 years, has been named the girls U13 and U14 coach for next season.  Patrice has been coaching youth soccer for the past 10 years in central Ohio, coaching both boys’ and girls’ teams. His U12 Girls’ team won the BPL State league title last season. We plan to announce additional appointments for the other age groups in the near future.
Robert and I, along with the coaching staff, are committed to seeing both the girls’ and boys’ programs prosper.  We look forward to working with you and your daughter in their soccer development.
